Looking to go to university or TAFE? Need help with expenses?

One of the leading privately funded scholarship programs in Australia, the program offers a range of options to assist students studying at University or TAFE.

Program’s include:

  • the Bendigo and Adelaide Bank Scholarship for rural and regional students;
  • scholarships from participating Community Bank Boards for students from their local districts;
  • the Rural Bank Agribusiness Scholarship for students looking to study in an agricultural field; and
  • the Bendigo Bank Indigenous Scholarship Program available to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students.

2021 Babinda Community Bank - High School Scholarship

Open for applications from Monday, 22 February 2021 until Monday, 22 March 2021

Details of Program

A scholarship bursary to support a student who attends lives within Babinda & Surrounding Districts and is completing Year 11 in 2021 (with the intention of completing Year 12 in 2022). (This includes school-based apprenticeships and traineeships.) 

This scholarship aims to encourage a local student to further their education in a chosen field, as well as their active involvement in the Babinda community. 

Eligibility Criteria 
To be eligible for this scholarship an applicant must meet the following criteria:

a) Be Enrolled as a Year 11 student in 2021, who is continuing to Year 12 in 2022

b) Be an Australian Citizen. 

** Please Note: Any areas of the online form that are not relevent to your application please place an N/A in those areas to allow you to continue 

Selection Criteria 
1. Academic diligence – demonstrated active participation in their studies

2. Community engagement – demonstrated involvement in community activities including school-based events. 

Applicants will be assessed based on the application form, AND they must provide supporting documentation as evidence of their claims in relation to Selection Criteria 1 and 2 (e.g. photographic evidence of community engagement, academic report card). 


Additional requirements for duration of the scholarship 
• Maintain consistent attendance AND satisfactory academic progress • Attend the Babinda Community Bank Branch AGM and outline the impact the scholarship has had on their studies • Be involved in the Babinda community, and school-based activities

The scholarship award value $1000 per year for 2 year each successful recipient, subject to the criteria set out above and satisfactory academic performance.

Scholarships will be awarded on the recommendation of a selection committee and will be based on how an applicant addresses the qualification criteria.
